MANDATORY
COURSES
PRINCIPLES OF
REAL ESTATE I (0111) & II (0112)
Almost everything you wanted to know about real estate and most of the
material covered in the state exam are included in this course. The license
act, title, and title transfers, contracts, finance, appraisal, Fair housing
and some basic real estate math are the topics covered. These courses meet
the 60-hour Principles of Real Estate requirement.
LAW OF
AGENCY (1111)
A real estate salesperson
or broker always works for someone and must work with others. This course is
mandatory for all new licensees. Through class discussion, video
presentation, role play and workbook exercises, you will thoroughly
understand how agency relationships are established, what you owe to your
principal, how to disclose your agency properly and effectively and how to
stay in compliance with federal and state laws addressing how you do the
real estate business. You will also have the opportunity to explore
salesperson and broker working relationships, compensation and taxes.
LAW OF
CONTRACTS (1200)
Through hands-on completion of many contracts, you will become thoroughly
familiar with all of the T.R.E.C. promulgated contracts and addenda forms
and be able to correctly complete them. Incorrectly completed contracts can
cost your license! After completing this course, you will move smoothly
through that first transaction.
ELECTIVES
REAL ESTATE
APPRAISAL (0211)
Learn the art of estimating the market value of property. At the conclusion
of this course, you will be able to advise sellers about what to ask for
their properties and thereby obtain more saleable listings. You will be able
to estimate property value by the cost, market and income approaches to
value.
REAL
ESTATE FINANCE (0411)
Few transactions close without a loan! At the completion of this course, you
will be knowledgeable about the available financing options and will be able
to guide buyers to the best loan for their particular situation. You will
learn how to qualify a buyer, where to go for a loan, how to choose whether
a fixed or adjustable rate loan is best in a particular case and how to
calculate loan payments. Gain the competitive edge by becoming competent in
this area.
REAL
ESTATE MARKETING (0511)
A "nuts and bolts" course to teach you how to make money in the real estate
business! Getting listings, properly servicing listings, finding buyers, the
art of negotiation and successfully closing the transaction are taught in
this exciting course. YOU can become a top producer by applying the skills
learned in this course!
REAL
ESTATE MATH (0611)
Understanding and patient are the most frequently used words by our students
to describe our outstanding and popular math instructor. Your anxiety about
math will vanish as you learn the easiest, most direct approach to interest
calculations, amortization, prorations, commission calculations, area and
volume calculations, and rent calculations. You will approach the state exam
with confidence!
PROPERTY
MANAGEMENT (0811)
This class teaches the basics of managing Real Estate investment properties
for yourself or others. It covers legal matters as well as partial
suggestions for successfully running rental units.
HOME INSPECTION (1021)
Learn about
what the home inspector does for you, the seller and the buyer.

EXAM REVIEW (EXRV)
A non-credit course designed to help develop and/or polish the skills and
knowledge necessary to pass the Texas Real Estate Commission's examination.
